Abstract: The magnetic absorbent can effectively remove the pollutant in wastewater by multiple physical and chemical processes． What is more， its magnetism can conveniently be separated from wastewater，and be beneficial to support concentrated treatment of pollution． The magnetic absorbent possesses the advantages of rapid，efficient and reusable． According to different magnetic materials divided into Fe3O4 magnetic particle and magnetic nanoparticle，the paper reviews the preparation and the application in wastewater of magnetic absorbent，and future research of the magnetic absorbent is prospected．
