The paper focuses on the site grading design for the food waste management company ( proposed) in a city. Matlab
software is used to optimize the terraced site grading design. Firstly,contour method is used to calculate the excavation and
filling of each step to get the datum by AutoCAD. On the basis of it,Matlab software were used to fit the functions between the
design elevation and earthwork volume of each step,and solve the equations set under the constraint conditions. Then get the
optimal design elevations and the minimum earthwork quantity based on the balance of excavation and filling,to provide the
optimized design of the general horizontal layout. This method can offer the reference to analysis and design the general layout
of industrial enterprises terraced field.
