APPLICATION OF GROUND IRON AND STEEL SLAG IN CONCRETE

  • For raising the utilization rate of the iron and steel slag,experimental programs were carried out to study the influence of ground iron and steel slag on the compressive strength,workability and temperature-raising of concrete. Some constructions were also introduced. Experimental results showed that ground iron and steel slag can increase the concrete compressive strength under the same dosage of the sinter materials; or if same compressive strength was expected,the dosage of the sinter materials could be decreased. Also it can improve the concrete workability and decline the concrete temperature. The results shows that ground iron and steel slag is a new type of concrete admixture
