EKR-PRB coupling technique combines electrokinetic remediation ( EKR) and permeable reactive barrier ( PRB)
technology. As a novel in-situ remediation technology for contaminated site, it has a good application prospect in the soil and
groundwater remediation. The mechanisms,influence factors,application advantages and the existing problems of EKR-PRB
coupling technique were summarized,and further suggestions were given out on potential improvement of higher remediation
efficiency and lower practice cost in contaminated site.
