STERILIZATION FOR WASTEWATER BY STREAMER CORONA PLASMAS

  • The discharge voltage,initial concentration of Escherichia coli,different test device were investigated while treating Escherichia coli from a wastewater treatment plant by streamer corona plasmas; and researchers compared the result of streamer corona plasmas and ozone disinfection. The results showed that the sterilization rate of Escherichia coli was 99% when initial concentration of Escherichia coli was 480 000 per litre,discharge time was 45 min,volume of water sample was 50 L,gas flow rate was 8 m3 /h,discharge voltage was 30 kV,the current was 11 mA in the tank at the room temperature; streamer corona plasmas and ozone disinfection had high sterilization capability,but the economic cost of streamer corona plasmas was cheaper than ozone disinfection.
